The Mavic Aksium 1 disc brake wheels combine comfort, stability and durability in a versatile wheelset. The aluminium rim with a 21 mm inner rim width can accommodate wider tyres for greater control and riding comfort, and the ID360 freewheel system ensures efficient power transfer with minimal resistance. Wide rim design for comfort and control
The Mavic Aksium 1 road bike wheel has an aluminium rim with a 21 mm internal width designed to provide optimal support for wider tyres. This wider internal rim width improves tyre stability and increases comfort and control on a variety of surfaces. The wheel has a UST Tubeless Ready construction, enabling tubeless use. A tubeless setup makes the tyre highly unlikely to go flat, lowers rolling resistance due to the absence of an inner tube, and increases grip and comfort. The combination of the aluminium rim construction and the tubeless-ready design results in a durable and versatile wheel with reliable handling.

Clever freewheel system and durable components
At the heart of this wheelset is the ID360 freehub system, which is lightweight and efficient, and uses a reliable ratchet mechanism. A large, non-contact rubber seal ensures excellent sealing, allowing the bearings to last a long time without needing replacement. At the same time, the system remains easy to maintain thanks to its tool-free serviceability. The J-bend spokes make for a robust wheel construction and are easy to replace should the need arise. Furthermore, the cartridge bearings are double-sealed and have C3 internal clearance. The automatic adjustment of the bearing load guarantees smooth, play-free rotation over the long term, which contributes to the wheel’s durability.

This wheelset is compatible with tyres with an outer diameter of 25 to 64 mm.
